GPG - GNU Privacy Guard 1.2.3    Download   

GnuPG is a complete and free replacement for PGP. Because it does not use the patented IDEA algorithm, it can be used without any restrictions. GnuPG is a RFC2440 (OpenPGP) compliant application. GnuPG is Free Software. It can be freely used, modified and distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License. PGP, on which OpenPGP is based, was originally developed by Philip Zimmermann; see his page for background information on PGP. The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology granted funds for the further development of GnuPG. See our press notice for details.
